The most amazing thing about Michihiro Matsuoka’s work is that his pieces are made from clay. His biomechanical fauna and flora may look like rusted metal, showing all the marks of age and decay, but it’s just an illusion perpetrated by a master of his medium. His creatures are part steampunk, part Lovecraft and wildly whimsical all at the same time. See more of his work at www.michihiro-matsuoka.com.

  1. I’m glad he threw a little English on his website so we can see his gallery. Amazing work — happy Lovecraft.
