Looking at Ron Pippin’s work is like taking a fieldtrip through a very dark and very strange museum. His Manuscripts are filled with the patina of age and decay and keep hidden as much as they reveal in their tarnished pages. Adorned with ancient keys and other, often unrelated, found objects, they invite scrutiny while giving up very little in the way of explanation. Bestia Mundi, a combination of bone and fabricated skeleton marries the natural world to the mechanical to ominous effect. An diverse selection of his work can be seen at www.ronpippin.com.
